Arkansas Freshmen Practice Tidbits.

So that we’re clear, I will not be at very many of the practices, so this is all what I’ve heard so far on the Freshman practice earlier today.

Offense:

QB
Brandon Allen looks good, but needs to work on his timing. Should be an elite QB once he gets that sorted out.

RB
Nate Holmes is looking good. He is a very fast RB but he needs to put on some weight.
Jonathan Williams looks extremely good today. He’s fast and big. Could very easily get some playing time this year.
Donovan Roberts is about the same size as Williams. The two should make for a very good 1-2 punch in the future.

WR
Keon Hatcher looked great today. His hands are bar none and he makes tough catches look easy. Will push for some big-time playing time this year. Very excited about this one.
The same goes for D’Arthur Cowan. If these two freshman step up, there might not be anybody in the nation who can stop us.

Eric Hawkins had some tendencies to drop some balls. He also seems bigger than 5’11″

Hatcher and Williams looked like the best offensive players out there today.

All in all, the entire WR corps looks very good. This should be a very special class. Paul Petrino has compared them to the class of Jarius, Joe, and Greg.

Defense:

DT DeMarcus Hodge is looking good. Has a huge burst and is a very big and scary dude.

The coaches are really on DB Will Hines. He’s a big and lengthy player. He has always reminded me of a smaller and more athletic Anthony Leon. He fits more of the safety role than Leon did, though. Could end up playing the Jack position.

Veteran Practice begins at 6:30.

Will Snead (SneadFeed). Will was born and raised in a small community just outside of Springfield, Missouri. He is the son of a mother who graduated from the University of Arkansas and a father who graduated from the University of Missouri, so it's natural that he was raised as a fan of both schools and was raised between Fayetteville and Columbia. He isn't here to make friends, instead he is here to kick butt and take names while also throwing a killer tailgate. His passions are for the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Missouri Tigers, SEC sports, tailgating, and the South. He doesn't often hate, but when he does it is kU (never capitalize the k!) fans and Yankee scum. He doesn't prefer the term bandwaggoner. If you are going to call him out for being an Arkansas fan and a Mizzou fan, he prefers that you come in with a different word. Make one up, even. He is the second most interesting man in the world.
