KENTUCKY STAYS PERFECT IN THE SEC

The stage was set. The “Hump” was rocking. The white-out was in full effect. The fat jokes were flowing. The upset was in place. Only one problem, somebody forgot to tell John Calipari and his Kentucky Wildcats.

Kentucky (27-1, 13-0) stormed back from a 13 point halftime deficit, and used a late 20-4 run to beat Miss. St. (19-9, 6-7) 73-64. With Marquis Teague in foul trouble Kentucky got an inspired second half performance out of Senior Darius Miller who scored 12 points in the last seven minutes of the game, including two huge threes. ” I took Darius out earlier for not shooting. The only reason he got back in is because Marquis had to come out,” said Calipari. ” Darius has to shoot the ball, if he’s not going to shoot I can’t play him”.

With this win Kentucky stretched the nations longest active winning streak to 19 games. The Cats were led in scoring by Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with 18 pts. and 10 rebs. Anthony Davis added 13 pts., 11 rebs., and 2 blks. Kentucky will play host to Vanderbilt Saturday at 12:00pm at Rupp Arena.
